Mama Termini (Rome)
The ‘Mama Termini’ project combines solidarity and commitment at Rome's Termini station.
With a weekly ‘tavolata’ at Rome's Termini station and a broad network of volunteers, ‘Mama Termini’ offers support and solidarity to displaced people, homeless people and other marginalised groups.
Since 2019, the Mama Termini project has been working with refugees, homeless people and other marginalised people. Every Sunday, volunteers organise a ‘tavolata’ at Rome's Termini station, creating a place for people to meet and interact. Most of the food is donated by local businesses, and anyone is welcome to join the tavolata.
The special thing about this initiative is the sense of community: local businesses donate most of the food, which is then prepared by volunteers. Thanks to the many volunteers, people can not only get a warm meal at Mama Termini, but also share other concerns. The network of volunteers offers direct support or helps to find the appropriate contact persons and organisations.
In addition, Mama Termini is actively working to change the political framework in Italy to promote more humane and inclusive policies.
Since the beginning of 2024, Be A Robin has been supporting the Mama Termini project with regular visits and a monthly financial contribution.
To ensure long-term financial security for the project, every donation counts. Help us to continue supporting this important project. Every donation counts and helps us to create hope and prospects together with Mama Termini.
